Somalia is rebuilding, with new opportunities to benefit from trade and regional integration as it prepares to become the eighth member of the East African Community.

Current challenges include protracted droughts and heavy rain, large displacement with 4 million IDPs, and huge gaps in food and nutrition targets.

IMRelief Strategy

IMRelief aims to focus on the following efforts:

  • Food Security: especially for the IDPs due to drought, and timed around seasonal spikes such as Ramadan and religious festivities.
  • WASH: Water wells to provide clean accessible water for those in need
  • Livelihood and Entrepreneurship: Vocational training to encourage economic inclusion and self-reliance for the poor.
